Rev. Thomas E. Robinson became Interim Pastor of The Presbyterian Church at Shrewsbury in August, 2016. A native of Charlotte, N.C., and a lifelong Presbyterian, Rev. Robinson received both his masters and doctoral degrees from Princeton Theological Seminary. He has served as an installed and interim pastor for over 30 years, including 20 years in the Mendham, Basking Ridge and Flemington churches. He also has served the ministry of the Presbyterian Church (USA) in synod and presbytery executive positions, specializing in mission promotion (outreach and caring ministries) and in church growth and development.
Thomas Van Duyne
Thomas Van Duyne became the Church's Administrative Assistant in August 18, 2016. Tom is a graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and the University of Maryland with a Master of Science degree in Telecommunications Management. He also is the Director of Music at Island Heights United Methodist Church and a member of the Presbyterian Church of Toms River.
Director of Christian Education
Sherri has been a member of the Presbyterian Church at Shrewsbury since 1996 and is in her 8th year as the Director of Christian Education. She has served as Nursery Coordinator, Sunday School Teacher, Superintendent and CE Elder during those 21 years. As DCE, Sherri oversees the daily management of the Nursery, Sunday School programs and the Senior High Youth Group. She assists the Pastor in teaching the year-long Confirmation Program, as well as, other Adult Ed areas. Sherri is also employed by the Presbytery of Monmouth as the Director of the Genesis Center (A Christian Resource Center). She is in her fourth year as the Treasurer of the Eastern Region Association of Presbyterian Educators. Sherri lives in Rumson with her twenty year old daughter, Ashley and their adorable puppy "Charlie". Sherri is very appreciative and grateful for all who contribute to the education and nurturing of the children at PCAS.
Reid Masters attended Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ where he graduated Summa cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music degree in addition to being named a Rider scholar. Soon after, he graduated with a Masters of Music degree in Sacred Music from Westminster. Reid's musical endeavors began in Texas at the age of 5 with piano lessons which continued through his undergraduate education. Now, trained as a countertenor, he studies with Laura Heimes. Reid has led choral workshops and master classes for various choirs throughout NJ in addition to the Taichung Chamber Singers in Taiwan. In addition to his role as Artistic Director/Conductor of the New Jersey Chamber Singers, Reid is also the co-founder and assistant director of Kinnara, a professional chamber ensemble which made its premier performance in 2008.
Bell Choir Director
Robyn has been a math teacher at Dwight D. Eisenhower Elementary School in Freehold, New Jersey since 2004. She has been the Bell Choir director at the Presbyterian Church at Shrewsbury since 2010.
Pat has been a physical therapist in Monmouth County for decades. Her Doctorate in PT is from Boston University, her Masters from Rutgers, and her Bachelors degree is from Northeastern U.
She returned to school and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music Degree, majoring in voice at Georgian Court in 2014. Pat's singing began at age 3 in a trio with her sisters and has included singing with Masterwork Chorus, Shrewsbury Chorale and currently the New Jersey Chamber Singers. She is a regional quartet champion of Sweet Adelines International and a certified director of barbershop music.
Pat is married to John Thorp, has three grown children, and is Grandma to 9, with one more on the way.
Frank is a graduate of Monmouth University and an experienced building manager. As Sexton, Frank oversees the Church's facilities to ensure that they are functional and well maintained at all times for our Church's programs, and the outside groups who use our facilities.
Charlie Adler is the church mascot. He keeps the rest of us smiling!
